Topeng muka juga hanya boleh dipakai sekali dan terus dibuang. Tertanya-tanya juga sama ada orang ramai amalkan atau tidak. Satu sekarang mungkin RM2.00, maknanya satu bulan kerja kena belanjakan RM40.00 untuk topeng muka sahaja. Nasib baik tiada sebarang perbezaan antara topeng yang mahal dengan yang murah dari segi keberkesanan.

The wearing of face masks by healthy individuals who are not involved in caring for people who are ill (i.e. the general public) is not recommended by the HPA. However, it is recognised that some people may choose to do so. The available scientific evidence does not suggest that this is an effective preventative measure.
